GARDEN PHOTOS

All of the photos below are from our own garden here in Northern NJ, yes New Jersey. Our just under an acre is located near the Ramapo River in Bergen County. Though Bergen is one of the most populated counties in the country there are still parts of it that teams with wildflowers, bears, deer, fox, and even mountain lions. Yes right here in NJ!

curb appeal - is attractiveness of the exterior of a residential or commercial property, as viewed from the street. The term was extensively used in the United States during the housing boom and continues to be used as an indicator of the initial appeal of a property to prospective buyers. While this may be the Wikipedia definition it was written for only people.

Don't get me wrong, people are important but we are not selling our house. We are attracting birds, bees, butterflies. So our curb appeal goes right to the curb itself. Our entire front yard is a Butterfly Garden, our yard is a registered North American Butterfly Association Garden, North Bergen Audubon Wildlife Garden, and a National Wildlife Backyard Habitat. It is filled with native wildflowers and other nectar plants from around the world, attracting dozens of species of butterflies each year. As well as Honeybees and Hummingbirds.

woodland gardening - with just under an acre we have replanted much of the space with native plants and other woodland perennials. Re-establishing lost habitat for songbirds, frogs, toads, turtles, salamanders, newts, and snakes. All of which are now found in our little woodland garden.

With thousands of rescued plants now thriving we split, seed and propagate the plants, because we all know you can never have too many plants. When we have extra they end up on this website destined for another deserving garden. The garden is designed with multiple paths with a surprise around every corner.

We rescued a single Wood Poppy from a road project and now we have hundreds in our woodland garden.

Fantastic woodland flowers that offer cover for salamanders, wood frogs and toads.
